AFNOR has published the revised version of the NF T 72-281 standard covering the assessment of solutions for airborne disinfection (‘désinfection des surfaces par voie aérienne’ or DSVA).
Published in November by AFNOR, the new version of the French standard NF T 72-281 replaces the original text released in 2009. The reference document defines a method for determining the disinfecting action of DSVA processes. The techniques in question are mainly those that bring into play chemical disinfectants in a dispersed form or as a vapour. The revised version of this standard includes a number of new points, such as taking into account virucidal activity or the inclusion of more representative micro-organisms of requirements encountered in different areas. Although the draft revision initially included the introduction of physical processes, only UV techniques have been added, but only in an informative annex. In the end, systems based on water vapour were not included in the new reference document.
