The structure, which includes more than 5000 m², should be operational at the end of 2016.
The LilLy laboratories have laid, on thuesday 5th november, the foundation stone of a brand production line for insulin cartridges. This high speed filling line will be located at the largest production site of the group in Fegersheim, Bas Rhin. This line should allow an increase of the production capacity of the site to an estimated 200 million units per year. This type of equipment implies the extension of a production building of nearly 5000m². The process will involve the use of isolators, as well as cleaning en sterilization on site. A three year project is scheduled for with a commissioning at the end of 2016. With the ambition of becoming the world leader in the production of innovative treatments for diabetes, the American group decided to invest 90 million euro in the project.
