International Standards ISO 14644-1 & 14644-2: progress update

6th March 2015

The projects for the revision of international standards ISO 14644-1 and 14644-2 will soon be moving to the FDIS stage, the last step before their planned publication in September.

Following the public survey carried out as part of the second DIS project (Draft International Standard) concerning the revision of ISO 14644-1 (Classification of air cleanliness by particle concentration) and ISO 14644-2 (Monitoring to provide evidence of cleanroom performance related to air cleanliness by particle concentration), the input received by the ISO was analysed in January by the working group. The modifications introduced should only lead to a few changes in relation to the DIS projects surveyed.

A final public survey during the FDIS stage (Final Draft International Standard) is scheduled between the end of May and end of July. However, at this stage it is normally no longer possible to provide input of a technical nature. The publication of both these standards is planned for September.

Introductory lectures from French experts will outline the new developments in these standards. They will take place on 31st March during the ContaminExpert Congress which is being held from 31st March to 2nd April at the Port de Versailles exhibition centre in Paris.
